What I'd like to know is if I'm in the right and if there are any small claims I can pursue against them here. They have nothing to lose by making someone else's life an absolute hell. They are at fault for NOTHING and have no negative repercussion in this situation. NOTHING gets started on their end without the customer initiating it. Spectrum, in my eyes, is at fault for NOT doing the diligence they said they did (the investigation concluded in nothing, but yet they literally held my equipment and charged me for it), forcing a customer to handle operations they should be capable of (they should be able to talk to their own employees via a phone call), for maliciously attacking my credit history and the amount of sheer stress and personal anxiety this has caused me over the past few months of starting and ending these "investigations" to seek a resolution. What I'm most concerned about is my credit score taking a hit for something that isn't my fault. I assume this bill is forfeit, but I guess I have to track this down now too. Today, I received a bill from Amsher Collection Services for $223.00. We turned that in and the bill was waved. They hadn't logged any of our equipment, as they were missing the remote my roommate had forgotten about in his trunk. As it turns out, the equipment was literally there. I had my roommate go to the location and ask about our equipment. "They do not have phones." Word for word. I asked them to call the office I turned in the equipment at and they told me it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to communicate with the brick and mortar stores. They have determined that the equipment was not found in their warehouses. Having talked with many different people in a span of multiple hours (text chat on their website, phone call with a bulk distribution location that handles my apartment complex's diving out of equipment, and a supervisor at Spectrum), I had discovered that they had done two investigations to look for my equipment. I do not think that is the case and that both claims are invalid, mine and theirs. I countered by saying provide me with proof that you gave me the equipment, at which they retorted with the fact that I've been paying the bills for a year and that is proof enough. Spectrum is asking for my receipt as proof of me turning in the equipment. I had hand delivered this equipment to their offices and was not offered a receipt. I had received two prior notices demanding $223.00 due to equipment they say they do not have that I was renting from them. Hello, this week I had quite the issue with Spectrum Internet Services in North Carolina.
